Kimley-Horn’s Austin, TX office is seeking a Civil Design Technician with 6+ years of experience to join our Disciplineteam. You will implement drafting standards, develop technical drawings, and perform quality checks on complex plans while mentoring CAD staff.

The role requires independent work, strong communication, and a willingness to learn Kimley-Horn’s procedures. This on-site position supports project schedules and team collaboration.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or associate degree preferred.
• Ability to set up printing/plotting.
• Proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley software.
• Strong communication and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards.
• Develop technical drawings and plans.
• Quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity, some multifaceted calculations.
• Supervise CAD staff.
• Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
• Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn's practices, procedures, and standards.
