The City of Pittsburgh seeks a Principal Planner to lead complex planning efforts and to oversee staff in the City Planning department. The role encompasses policy development, development review, and coordination with city boards, neighbors, and stakeholders to advance the city\'s comprehensive planning objectives.

Qualified candidates will have a Master\'s degree in a related field and at least four years of full-time planning experience; a total of ten years when including education is

Formación

• Four (4) years of full-time experience in planning, urban design, engineering, architecture, or landscape architecture.
• Master's Degree from a fully accredited institution in Planning, Urban Design, Engineering, Architecture, Landscape Architecture, or related field.
• Total Qualifying Requirement is ten (10) years when combining education/training and work experience.

Responsabilidades

• Performs advanced professional work on key policy issues affecting the City, including land use, sustainable development, economic growth, housing affordability, climate change mitigation, transportation, and civic participation.
• Leads, coordinates, and reviews the work of lower-level planners and interns on projects.
• Represents the department at community meetings, hearings, and with city staff, boards, and elected officials.
• Assists in development and implementation of the City’s Comprehensive Plan and related planning initiatives.
• Performs other related tasks and duties as assigned.
