Job summary

The City Of McMinnville is seeking a Senior Planner to lead complex land use planning, coordinate with the Community Development Director, and serve as a subject matter expert across urban design, transportation planning, and policy development.

The role requires identifying community needs, managing large planning projects, presenting to the Planning Commission and City Council, and guiding staff with grant administration and compliance with state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in planning or related field with several years of experience.
• Knowledge of land use laws, zoning, and community development processes.
• Ability to manage complex planning projects and lead teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead short- and long-range planning efforts, coordinate with agencies and stakeholders.
• Review and analyze development applications and plans; prepare reports for City management.
• Provide staff support to Planning Commission and City Council; present amendments and rezoning proposals.
