Job summary

GDH seeks a mid- to senior-level Consulting Engineer to deliver enterprise Cisco networking solutions in Austin, TX, focusing on Catalyst switches, Catalyst Center, MPLS, and routing protocols. The role involves designing, implementing, and optimizing complex networks for a key customer, with on-site presence ~2–3 days per week and leadership across the customer lifecycle.

Qualifications

Requires 8+ years in customer-centric network solution design, deployment and support.
Strong proficiency with Cisco Catalyst switches and routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF).
Experience with automation/programmability using Python and Ansible.
Hands-on with SDA/ISE and wireless tech is a plus.
Ability to work on-site in Austin, TX 2–3 days per week.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and deployment of advanced Cisco enterprise networking solutions (Catalyst, Catalyst Center, MPLS).
Provide on-site and remote consulting to optimize networks and automate initiatives.
Collaborate with internal teams and client stakeholders to tailor network solutions.
Guide implementation of automation using Python and Ansible.
Troubleshoot complex networking issues and deliver timely, strategic resolutions.
Conduct workshops, demos and POCs to drive customer adoption of Cisco solutions.
Lead large enterprise network design/deployment projects, ensuring scope, time, and budget.
Maintain knowledge of Cisco products and emerging networking trends.
Identify opportunities for upsell and expanded Cisco services.
Document designs, configurations, and implementation processes for stakeholders.
