Job summary

Akima Systems Engineering in Honolulu, HI seeks a Senior Cisco Network Engineer to support C2S2 networks. You will design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot a vast Cisco-based infrastructure and serve as SME across enclaves with varying security classifications.

This on-site role offers a sign-on bonus up to $10,000 and a competitive benefits package, with occasional after-hours and weekend support for planned outages and urgent maintenance.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8140.03-M Intermediate Proficiency Level.
• Must possess one of the following 8570 IAT-II certifications: CCNA Security; CySA+; GICSP; GSEC; Security+ CE; SSCP.
• Must have CCNP certification.
• Minimum High School Diploma/GED.
• At least 5 years of DoD network engineering experience or 8 years total.
• Experience managing Cisco Routers and Switches.
• Experience managing Cisco Firewalls — Firepower.
• Experience managing Cisco ACI and ISE.
• Experience using SPLUNK, ACAS, WhatsUpGold or an equivalent tool.
• Experience with Microsoft Office tools.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and secure network infrastructure, including Cisco routers, switches, IOS, ISE, Firepower, and ACI.
• Manage network technologies such as F5, Palo Alto, VMware NSX, Splunk, and ServiceNow.
• Lead network projects independently, ensuring systems remain secure, patched, and operational.
• Perform DISA STIG compliance checks, ACAS vulnerability assessments, and network security monitoring.
• Maintain LAN/WAN environments, troubleshoot network issues, and process IT service requests and trouble tickets.
• Develop and maintain network diagrams, SOPs, workflows, and device lifecycle documentation.
• Collaborate with technical teams to develop and improve ServiceNow workflows.
• Prepare monthly status reports for the COR-appointed Technical Assistant (TA).
• Provide occasional after-hours and weekend support for planned maintenance and unexpected outages.
