Job description

Rise8 builds custom, secure software for government organizations, measuring success by impact: lives saved, time returned, and missions advanced.

We think big, start small, and scale fast with elite teams across product, design, and engineering to drive continuous delivery for critical missions.

We believe customer experience starts with employee experience, so we take care of our employees. Rise8 is where you’ll do the best work of your career—supported by a culture you won’t find anywhere else. We offer competitive pay and benefits, but what sets us apart is our commitment to autonomy, growth, and a culture rooted in kindness, candor, and continuous learning.

About You
  • You want to make tomorrow better than today.
  • You have a passion for high‑speed security and you care about risk management over compliance.
  • You believe the biggest vulnerability in any system is time. You live to securely reduce cycle time.
  • You enjoy daily decision making and real product delivery.
  • You help ensure project success and client satisfaction.
  • You enjoy collaborative teams, pairing with team members, and inviting your clients to participate.
  • You like to work alongside, and learn from, lean and agile leaders.
  • You are a creative problem solver who is comfortable with uncertainty.
  • You are a curious and keen learner who thrives on enhancing your (and our) practices and knowledge.
  • You see AI as a force multiplier, not a shortcut — and you're already weaving it into how you think, build, and ship.
As a Senior CI/CD Engineer at Rise8, you will:
  • Contribute to the development of CI/CD principles to enhance software delivery processes.
  • Regularly review and refine CI/CD principles in an iterative manner.
  • Provide knowledgeable guidance on the development and operation of CI/CD tools and platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with product teams to create and sustain pipeline configurations.
  • Implement process automation to streamline and minimize manual efforts.
  • Maintain open communication with product teams within your portfolio to understand their software build and deployment requirements, ensuring CI/CD facilitates a seamless experience.
  • Champion AI‑augmented ways of working across your engagement(s), leveraging AI tooling to accelerate delivery, reduce cycle time, and drive better outcomes at scale.
Qualifications
  • Must have an active TS/SCI security clearance or be SCI eligible.
  • Must live within the commutable driving distance into Tampa, Florida several days per week (hybrid work).
  • A background of 6+ years in cloud/platform operations or related roles across diverse environments, or recently finishing a PhD in a technical field.
  • Develop and implement CI/CD pipelines, integrating security and compliance measures for continuous code deployment by API teams.
  • Experience in working with GitHub Actions or equivalent software.
  • Proficiency in script writing, irrespective of programming languages.
  • Ability to manage infrastructure assets, encompassing networks, servers, operating systems, and databases.
  • Knowledge of software packaging tools (.exe, .deb, .rpm, and Docker).
  • Proficiency in version control tools such as Git, Subversion, and Mercurial.
  • Experience in managing cloud providers, including AWS, GCP, and Azure.
  • Familiarity with security, vulnerability, monitoring, and code coverage analytical tools.
  • Full‑stack experience covering both frontend and backend development.
  • Strong background in API Development.
  • Comfortable operating software in Linux environments.
  • Solid understanding of algorithms, databases, and design patterns, with effective application.
  • Excellent communication skills with a preference for a pair‑programming environment.
  • Proficient in Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and agile methodologies.
  • A degree (BA/BS) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting challenges using the Linux/Unix command line interface.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and Amazon EKS (Elastic Kubernetes Service).
  • Possession of recognized Professional Certifications such as CKA, RHCE, Linux+, MCSA, AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Developer, Security+, CISSP, and CCNA.
  • Background in DevOps automation practices.
  • Direct experience in client interaction.
  • Familiarity with Department of Defense (DoD) operations, particularly within a DoD "Software Factory" context.
