Job summary

Brotherhood Mutual Insurance Company in Fort Wayne, IN seeks an experienced Senior Underwriter to evaluate, classify, and price church and related ministry accounts within authority, focusing on growth and profitability.

You will train underwriters, collaborate with agents, and support the Regional Underwriting Manager while addressing coverage questions and ensuring sound pricing strategies for large and complex risk profiles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• CPCU, CIC or other insurance coursework desired.
• 4–6 years of commercial underwriting experience required.
• Knowledge of building construction and valuation desirable.
• Experience in training underwriters or staff is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, classify and price new and renewal church/related ministry accounts.
• Document files to ensure clear action history for auditors and management.
• Lead teams to research issues or special projects as assigned.
• Provide training to underwriters and assistants.
• Engage in agency visits and interact with prospects or insureds.
• Contribute input on agency performance affecting growth and profitability.
• Assist in developing/maintaining underwriting guidelines and forms.
• Coordinate reinsurance and align with retention and treaty strategies.
