Ideal candidates have deep C++ expertise and hands‑on experience profiling Chromium components, with a track record of optimizing rendering, scripting, and graphics across platforms.

Qualifications

• Strong in-depth knowledge of performance optimization for browser engines and applications.
• Experience profiling and debugging at the system level across Chromium stack, OS, and hardware.
• Hands-on experience with Chromium-based browsers and modern C++ performance practices.

Responsibilities

• Profile and optimize performance across Chromium subsystems, including Blink, V8, Skia, GPU/ANGLE, and multi‑process architecture.
• Identify CPU, memory, GPU, and power bottlenecks using real workloads and benchmarks.
• Implement performance improvements in page load, rendering, JavaScript execution, graphics/compositing, and browser responsiveness.
• Drive platform optimizations (Windows primary; Linux/macOS a plus) and interactions with OS schedulers and drivers.
• Analyze performance using industry‑standard and custom tooling (Perfetto, ETW, Chrome Tracing, VTune, PIX, GPUView).
• Collaborate with browser vendors, OS teams, compiler teams, and hardware partners to co‑optimize software and platforms.
• Contribute patches upstream to Chromium or downstream forks; translate findings into practical improvements.
• Document investigations and results; communicate findings to technical stakeholders.
• Show strong focus on performance engineering and debugging across large codebases.
• Hands‑on experience with Chromium‑based browsers (Chrome, Edge, or forks).

Education

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent
