Job summary

Google LLC in Mountain View, CA seeks a Principal Chipset Project Engineer II to lead the chipset development from concept through mass production, bridging hardware architecture, IP development, physical design, and software readiness.

You will drive end-to-end execution across a global matrixed team to ensure on-schedule delivery, optimize for PPA, and coordinate with DSPG Silicon, Software, and Pixel Hardware to land day-one software sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 15 years of experience with custom silicon design, SoC/ASIC implementation, or hardware-software co-design.
• 10 years of technical leadership experience.
• Experience directing SoC development from concept to mass production.

Responsibilities

• Direct the execution of the entire SoC lifecycle from initial chip definition through tape-out and mass production.
• Collaborate with DSPG Silicon, Software, and Pixel Hardware teams to drive a one-team model and ensure day-one software sponsorship.
• Coordinate deliverables across a global matrixed workforce and resolve technical blockers.
• Lead critical debug forums to drive complex system failure signatures to rapid root-cause closure.
• Direct the engineering planning and execution of the chipset to meet PPA-C metrics.
