Job summary

Providence Saint John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA is seeking a Senior Child Development Teacher. The role is full-time with 8-hour day shifts, dedicated to fostering social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development in preschool-aged children within an NAEYC-accredited center.

You will co-teach with fellow educators, design a developmentally appropriate curriculum aligned with our center’s philosophy, and ensure a safe, engaging learning environment in a hospital-adjacent

Qualifications

• 24 Semester units of Early Childhood Education including CORE classes and Infant/Toddler Development
• California Commission on Teaching Credentialing - Teacher Permit
• CA AB1207 Child Care Provider Mandated Reporter Training
• Bachelor's Degree and 4 years of college-level training in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Master's Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
• Background Check Clearance by the CA Department of Social Services is required
• No convictions related to child abuse or offenses bearing relation to qualifications for a child care facility
• 2 years of working with preschool-aged children
• 6 months of supervised field experience in Early Childhood setting

The Teacher works as a team member to provide a safe and secure environment to enhance a child's social, emotional, physical, and intellectual development as part of our National Accredited for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) Early Childhood Development Center. The Teacher is responsible for co-teaching with other educators in the center, organizing and planning a developmentally appropriate curriculum based on center's philosophy and NAEYC accreditation guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

• 2 years of working with preschool aged-children.
• 6 months of Supervised Field Experience in Early Childhood Setting.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6 months of working with Infants & Toddlers.
