About the Opportunity

Our client, a well-established, multi-entity organization based in Alaska with federal government contracting operations, is seeking a seasoned finance executive to serve as Sr. CFO. This is an enterprise-level mandate for a leader who has already run a CFO seat at scale — someone ready to bring proven judgement to a complex, consolidated, multi-organizational structure and sit at the table with the President and Board on the company's biggest decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct accounting and finance talent strategy across a multi-organizational enterprise, including staff development and succession
  • Own the accuracy and integrity of consolidated financial reporting under GAAP and applicable trust/tax basis reporting requirements
  • Govern internal controls, federal contracting compliance (FAR/CAS), and audit posture for DCAA/IRS engagements
  • Serve as corporate lead on startups, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures — from deal analysis through integration
  • Set enterprise-wide budgeting, forecasting, and pricing strategy across CPFF, T&M, and FFP contract types
  • Act as a strategic counterpart to the President/CEO in shaping long-range corporate direction
  • Direct cash management, capital strategy, and banking/partner relationships to support future growth
  • Serve as a trusted voice in Board and shareholder governance
Qualifications
  • Master's degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or Finance required
  • 10+ years of progressive financial, operational, and strategic leadership experience
  • Demonstrated success as a sitting CFO
  • Substantive experience partnering with or reporting to a Board of Directors
  • Deep, hands-on experience overseeing financials for a $400M+ federal contracting business and a $250M+ commercial business
  • History of scaling and transforming finance/accounting organizations
  • Based in Anchorage or elsewhere in Alaska, or willing to relocate
  • CPA preferred
  • Experience with shareholder-owned organizations, including shareholder or trust-basis financial reporting
