Job summary

Randstad USA is seeking a Scientist III in Eugene, OR to drive multi-step organic synthesis and technical innovation in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

The role involves optimizing reactions, reviewing data, and contributing to cutting-edge manufacturing initiatives. A Master’s degree with 5+ years of synthesis experience is required and the position is contract-based.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Organic Chemistry with 5+ years of synthesis experience.
• Strong isolation, characterization, and analytical monitoring skills.
• Ability to prioritize projects and maintain composure under deadlines.
• Excellent technical writing and communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Perform multi-step organic synthesis (100 mg to 500 g scale) utilizing air- and moisture-free chemistry methods.
• Review historical records and analyze scientific data to optimize and execute complex manufacturing work orders.
• Troubleshoot chemistry processes using advanced chromatography and analytical techniques.
• Develop weekly work plans and coordinate resources to ensure on-time project completion.
• Maintain rigorous standards for laboratory safety, chemical handling, and process equipment operation.

• Excellent technical writing, organization, and constructive communication skills.
