Job summary

Scorpion Therapeutics in the United States seeks a senior scientist to lead laboratory efforts, shaping program and chemistry strategy. You will design and execute complex synthesis plans while applying chemical biology approaches to advance drug candidates.

You will mentor colleagues, publish findings, and represent the company through presentations. A PhD or MS/BS with substantial experience in synthesis, catalysis, and related fields is required, with career growth in a dynamic discovery

• Experience in methodology/catalysis, total synthesis, chemical biology, bioconjugate chemistry, peptide synthesis, and/or physical organic chemistry.

Job description

Specific Responsibilities

• Act as an expert in the laboratory, executing on program and chemistry strategy.
• Develop and use innovative synthetic, medicinal chemistry and/or chemical biology problem-solving skills with analysis of data sets to build structure-activity relationships.
• Design, synthesize, purify, and characterize drug candidates and/or chemical probes in target identification and validation, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization programs.
• Provide scientific mentoring and technical training of team members.
• Establish an external scientific presence, including significant scientific publications and presentations.

Education

• B.S. in chemistry, chemical biology, medicinal chemistry, or a related field with at least 7 years of experience; or M.S. with at least 4 years; or Ph.D. in a related field (to be received by Summer 2026).

Requirements
