Job summary

Edwards Lifesciences in Utah is seeking a Principal Chemist to lead MS-based structural elucidation of extractables and leachables and to develop, validate, and optimize analytical methods using LC-MS, GC-MS, and ICP-MS.

You'll provide technical direction across multiple lab workstreams, review data, and guide calibration, transfer, and lifecycle management of complex methods while mentoring junior staff. Travel up to 25% may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry with 8 years of related experience in unknowns analysis using mass spectrometry techniques.
• Master's degree in Chemistry with 6 years of related experience in unknowns analysis using MS techniques.
• Ph.D. in Chemistry with 4 years of related experience in unknowns analysis using MS techniques.
• On-site presence required; travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Lead test method development, validation and testing on Extractables and Leachables using HPLC-MS, GC-MS and ICP-MS.
• Perform mass spectrometry-based structural elucidation of extractables and leachables.
• Oversee routine analysis of EO/ECH residuals on medical devices.
• Provide technical authority for root cause analysis of product/sample failures and CAPA.
