Job summary

Cambrex Corporation invites a highly skilled chemist to optimize existing chemical routes and develop alternative chemistry toward key intermediates and APIs. You will perform multistep syntheses, purification, and analysis, communicating with clients in regular meetings and preparing R&D reports.

The role requires advanced degree with substantial lab experience in pharmaceutical chemistry, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work within a GMP-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or related field with 2+ years' experience (or MS with 6+ years, or BS with 10+ years).
• Hands-on pharmaceutical/chemical process development experience preferred.
• Strong communication and organizational skills; ability to work in a diverse team.

Responsibilities

• Carry out multistep organic syntheses, isolation and purification.
• Apply modern organic synthesis methodologies.
• Interpret data from analytical and spectroscopic techniques.
• Scale syntheses from milligrams to kilograms.
• Coordinate project activities with minimal supervision.
• Write comprehensive project reports for internal and client use.
• Advise clients on key regulatory guidance with manager input.
• Maintain teamwork and cooperation within the group.
• Maintain safe laboratory operations per the chemical hygiene plan.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and GMP to coordinate equipment.
• Keep a clean, safe laboratory area.
• Complete required training on hazardous materials handling.
