Job summary

Eastman in Kingsport, Tennessee, is seeking a Process Design/Optimization Chemical Engineer to advance process engineering, development, scale-up, and optimization efforts across the corporation.

You will apply first-principles engineering, process simulation, and data-driven decision making to support innovation, capital projects, and operating improvements, while collaborating with cross-functional teams and sharing technical knowledge.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in process engineering or related roles.
• Experience using Aspen process simulation software or comparable tools.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics and chemical engineering fundamentals.
• Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems using data and engineering principles.

Responsibilities

• Apply first-principles engineering and data analysis to solve complex technical problems.
• Generate process design information including PFDs, balances, and techno-economic evaluations.
• Develop expertise in PDO capabilities such as process simulation, synthesis, or optimization.
• Support capital projects and environmental calculations for permitting and compliance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and mentor colleagues in technical growth.
