Job summary

Maze Therapeutics is seeking a Manager, Chemical Development to oversee external CMOs for DS and SM manufacturing, guiding candidates from preclinical work to manufacturing. You will collaborate with discovery, QA, and regulatory teams to ensure cGMP compliance while driving process improvements.

The role offers hybrid work with onsite presence at the South San Francisco headquarters and requires travel domestically and internationally.

Qualifications

MS or PhD in synthetic organic chemistry with process chemistry experience.
Experience in cGMP chemical manufacturing or CMOs preferred.
Strong ability to prepare technical reports and present findings.

Responsibilities

Manage external CMOs that manufacture and test drug substance and starting materials for Maze's programs.
Collaborate with discovery teams to carry candidates from preclinical work into manufacturing.
Partner with Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs to ensure cGMP compliance.
Own the process from bench to clinic with cross-functional visibility.
Prepare technical reports and present results to internal teams and external partners.
Monitor industry trends and advancements in chemical technology to improve processes.
