Job summary

H-Squared, a leading investment manager, is seeking a Senior IMS Engineer to lead evolution of a front-office Investment Management Platform. The role focuses on delivering critical IMS configurations, integrations, and automation to support portfolio managers and traders.

You'll own Charles River IMS development and integrations, build automation with Python and REST APIs, mentor engineers, and partner with technology teams to raise platform reliability and performance across the investment

Qualifications

• 10+ years in investment technology or financial systems engineering.
• Extensive experience with a major IMS and API integrations.
• Bachelor's degree in CS, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, delivery, and enhancement of IMS configurations, workflows, and integrations across the investment lifecycle
• Build automation and integration solutions using Python, REST APIs, and vendor APIs/SDKs (e.g. Charles River API Framework)
• Configure and optimise workbench/front-end layouts, workflows, rules, dashboards, and result sets
• Partner with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Investment Technology teams to deliver front-to-back solutions
• Drive improvements across portfolio optimisation, trading, and post-trade operations
• Own production stability, Start-of-Day readiness, and continuous service improvement
• Mentor engineers and champion best practices as a senior technical leader

A leading global investment manager is hiring a Senior IMS Engineer to help lead the evolution of a business-critical front-office Investment Management platform.

While Charles River experience is highly desirable, we're also keen to speak with engineers from any leading Investment Management System, including Aladdin, Calypso, SimCorp, ThinkFolio, Bloomberg AIM, or similar.

You'll take ownership of Charles River Investment Management System development, integrations, and platform enhancement initiatives while partnering directly with Portfolio Managers, Traders, and Technology teams to lead platform enhancements, build integrations, automate workflows, and drive the future of investment technology.

What We're Looking For

• 10+ years in investment technology, application development, or financial systems engineering
• Deep expertise with a major IMS (Charles River IMS/CRD, Aladdin, Calypso, SimCorp, ThinkFolio, Bloomberg AIM, or equivalent), including implementation, customisation, workflow design, and API integrations
• Strong Python skills, plus Java and/or C# and advanced SQL
• Solid understanding of portfolio management, order management, trading, and investment operations across Equities and Fixed Income
• Proven ability to engage senior stakeholders and translate requirements into scalable solutions
• Experience leading technical initiatives and influencing platform strategy
• Bachelor's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
