Job summary

Cherry Bekaert LLP in the United States seeks a Senior Associate in CFO Advisory Services to deliver accounting advisory engagements for state and local governments, higher education, and not-for-profits. You will assist with GASB-related issues, ACFRs, and complex financial reporting transformations.

You will work on roll-forwards of GASB standards, local government audits, and process improvements while traveling up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and 4+ years in public accounting or public sector.
• Strong knowledge of GASB standards.
• Experience with GASB, AICPA, GAS, including Yellow Book.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Deliver accounting advisory engagements for governments, higher education institutions, and not-for-profits.
• Support financial reporting, process improvement, and transformational initiatives.
• Lead data analysis and large dataset problem solving.
• Engage clients through interviews and validate key assumptions.
