Jaros, Baum & Bolles (JB&B) is seeking a Senior CFD Specialist to advance its CFD practice at the intersection of fluid dynamics and building performance. You will lead model development, mentor staff, manage client relationships, and help shape service offerings within the Built Pillar.

The role emphasizes end-to-end project ownership, collaboration with multidisciplinary teams, and applying CFD insights to real-world building challenges across healthcare, high-rise, and critical environments.

Qualifications

• B.S. or M.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Civil/Environmental Engineering, or a closely related field required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8–10+ years of relevant experience in CFD modeling or building simulation.
• Experience across healthcare design, smoke control, contaminant transport, outdoor airflow, or thermal comfort assessment.
• Proven track record managing project scope, schedule, budget, and client expectations in a consulting environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead CFD model development using SimScale, Flovent, and related platforms across complex building types.
• Model outdoor airflow dynamics, including exhaust re-entrainment and contaminant dispersion.
• Own projects end-to-end: scope, schedule, budget, billing, risk, and profitability.
• Review CFD models for QC, mesh quality, boundary conditions, turbulence model selection, and results.
• Lead client meetings, translate results into actionable guidance, and support RFQ responses and proposals.
• Mentor junior staff and help shape the CFD practice's direction and offerings.
• Demonstrate strong HVAC fundamentals and practical CFD application under project constraints.
• Communicate clearly with design teams and stakeholders to drive effective decision-making.
• Foster collaboration and build relationships with clients and internal teams.
