Minimum Qualifications
  • Must have a current Florida licensure as a Certified Nursing Assistant.
  • Must be willing and able to work a schedule that is inclusive of weekends and holidays.
  • Must have basic computer skills.

Preference
  • One year of experience in a long‑term care facility working with a geriatric population.
  • Valid CPR certification.

Position Description

The incumbent will provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) and nursing care including oral hygiene, bathing, grooming, hair and nail care, shaving, toileting, assistance with meals, mobility, and transportation to meal service areas. Responsibilities include:

  • Routinely observe, identify and report resident concerns or needs to the supervisor.
  • Provide escort to resident appointments when required.
  • Complete assignments timely, completely, and accurately.
  • Accept assigned duties in a cooperative manner.
  • Perform restorative nursing measures as outlined in the care plan.
  • Perform simple nursing measures such as applying splints, positioning devices, making occupied and unoccupied beds, and changing linens.
  • Measure and record vital signs as assigned.
  • Measure and record intake and output according to the care plan.
  • Observe, monitor and report symptoms of potential skin breakdown or pressure ulcers.
  • Use appropriate technique for mechanical lifts, transferring, turning, positioning, and range‑of‑motion exercises.
  • Provide end‑of‑life care and necessary nursing care for assigned residents.
  • Respond to cognitively impaired residents or those with difficult behaviors such as dementia or Alzheimer’s.
  • Observe conditions and report behavioral changes to the primary nurse or RN supervisor.
  • Ensure that resident safety devices are used as outlined in the care plan.
  • Document all care given in the appropriate form or electronic patient care documentation system.
  • Maintain confidentiality of residents.
  • Ensure efficient use of supplies and documents in the inventory system.
  • Respond to residents’ requests and needs in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Answer resident call lights promptly.
  • Notify the nurse of any changes in the resident’s condition.
  • Complete assignments from the primary nurse or RN supervisor within the time allowed.
  • Attend all required facility training.
  • Perform related work as required.
