Job summary

Intellectt INC in Atlanta, GA seeks a Sr Certification Engineer to lead aircraft modification certification efforts and develop plans, plans, and representations for airworthiness compliance.

The role requires knowledge of FAR regulations and DER/DAR practices, experience with certification documents, and strong MS Office skills, with 4–7 years in engineering and a degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering. You will coordinate with FAA regulators and interface with customers and suppliers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related field strongly preferred.
• 4–7 years of engineering experience; internships/Co-ops may count.
• Must have knowledge of aircraft certification processes and substantiation techniques.
• Must have strong computer skills and proficiency with MS Office programs.
• Familiar with aircraft mechanical/structural design, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware.
• Must be organized with good communication skills and professional appearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop certification plans, compliance checklists, and conformity inspection plans.
• Develop substantiation reports and test plans/reports for flammability and cabin safety.
• Draft certification presentations for meetings and manage small STC/PMA projects, including data deliverables from suppliers and responses to inquiries and airworthiness concerns.
• Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed major design changes.
• Support relationships with FAA regulatory agencies via project presentations.
• Interface with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders on certification of modification projects.
