Job summary

Pentangle Tech Services | P5 Group is seeking an experienced Certification Engineer to support aerospace projects in Georgia. The role involves developing certification plans, substantiation tests, and regulatory communications with FAA and other authorities.

Candidates should have a B.S. in aerospace or mechanical engineering and 4–7 years in engineering, plus familiarity with FARs, certification processes, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in a related engineering field is preferred.
• Experience with aircraft certification processes and substantiation techniques.
• Knowledge of FAR regulations and airworthiness requirements.

Responsibilities

• Develop certification plans, compliance checklists, conformity inspection plans.
• Develop substantiation reports and test plans/reports for flammability and cabin safety.
• Draft certification presentations for meetings and manage small STC/PMa projects for certification data deliverables from suppliers.
• Coordinate responses to inquiries and airworthiness concerns with regulators.
• Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for major design changes.
• Interface with customers, suppliers and stakeholders on certification of modification projects.

Job description

1. B.S. in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related scientific field strongly preferred.

2. Four (4) to seven (7) years overall work experience in an engineering role. Engineering internships and Co-op assignments may be applied to experience requirements.

3. Must possess some knowledge of aircraft certification processes and substantiation techniques.

4. Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with MS Office programs.

5. Must be familiar with aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware.

6. Must be organized and an effective individual contributor, presenting good communication skills and a professional appearance.

Preferred:

1. 7. Knowledge of aircraft interiors.
2. 8. Experience as a certification engineer, design engineer, or substantiation engineer.

Responsibilities:

• Develop certification plans, compliance checklists, conformity inspection plans
• Develop substantiation reports and test plans / reports for flammability and cabin safety.
• Draft certification presentations for all meetings and manage small STC / PMA projects for certification requirements including data deliverables from suppliers, and coordinating responses to inquiries, significant certification issues and airworthiness concerns.
• Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed major design changes.
• Support the relationship with FAA regulatory agencies via project presentations.
• Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to certification of modification projects.
