ELYSIS is seeking a Senior Materials Development Engineer in New Kensington, PA, to lead R&D for ceramic electrodes in the ELYSIS smelting process. You will apply ceramic materials expertise to advance readiness levels, guide electrode production teams, and report to R&D management.

This hands-on, onsite role requires strong data analysis, project management, and collaboration across engineering and industrial partners to reduce risk and accelerate industrialization of the carbon-free smelting

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Ceramics Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
• Experience with ceramic sintering, processing equipment, and scale-up.
• Strong data management, analysis, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Responsabilités

• Lead programs to reduce industrialization scale-up risks for critical equipment and processes.
• Define objectives, develop work plans, and conduct research building on prior advances.
• Provide data-based guidance for equipment and process design to lower industrialization risk.
• Develop technical specifications for materials and equipment, and close knowledge gaps.
• Apply engineering principles in lab, pilot, and commercial environments.
• Use root cause analysis to resolve material, process, or production issues.
• Identify improvements and implement innovative solutions for development goals.
• Manage scopes, schedules, and budgets with vendors and partners.
• Document results in clear technical reports and presentations.
