Job summary

ELYSIS US Research & Development facility in New Kensington, PA seeks a skilled technician to support development of advanced materials. You will operate equipment, assist with process development, and run tests and scale-up experiments within a collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities include material batching, sample prep, data recording, and adherence to EHS standards. The role requires 12-hour rotating shifts and hands-on mechanical skills in a cutting-edge setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years in an industrial environment with emphasis on material handling.
• Strong safety focus and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a team and lead when needed.
• Strong communication skills and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead and execute tasks including material batching, handling, and equipment operation/maintenance.
• Prepare and test samples for chemical composition and physical properties.
• Demonstrate mechanical aptitude to work independently and lead teams for disassembly, repair and troubleshooting.
• Develop and maintain safe work instructions and comply with Alcoa EHS best practices.
• Operate overhead cranes, forklifts, and other mobile equipment.
• Be prepared for a 12-hour rotating day/evening shift; initial schedule Monday–Friday daylight shifts.
• Outline and perform tasks to achieve objectives with minimal supervision and progress reviews.
• Coordinate project activities ensuring documentation, schedule and metrics are met; execute designed experiments.
• Record and analyze data; interpret and communicate results to team members.
