Job summary

Project FIND maintains its eldercare centers and programs in New York City, ensuring safe spaces for residents. The maintenance worker keeps floors, walls, and fixtures in good condition, performs minor repairs, and supports daily operations across multiple sites.

The role requires readiness to follow safety rules and assist with program events. Under the Program Director’s supervision, you will help preserve our aging-in-place centers, handle routine upkeep, ensure DOHMH and NYC Aging

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required and/or 2-4 years prior maintenance experience.
• Experience using hand and electrical tools across maintenance tasks.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to solve problems while considering site logistics.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and maintain all floors and stairways.
• Replace floor tiles and ceiling panels as needed.
• Perform minor repairs to locks, walls, painting, plastering.
• Empty waste baskets and garbage cans in kitchens and program spaces.
• Replace light bulbs and complete routine maintenance tasks.
• Clean bathrooms, replace toilet paper and towels as needed.
• Clean mirrors and glass; maintain bulletin boards and bookcases.
• Complete required paperwork for NYC Aging and NYDOHMH inspections.
• Transport furniture and program equipment between sites.
• Assemble/install program appliances and small equipment.
• Maintain offices, storage, lobbies, hallways, kitchen, and dining area per policy.
• Review program calendar to set up for events.
• Troubleshoot and report maintenance issues to Program Director.
• Perform other tasks as required by supervisor.
