Job summary

New Castle County Department of Community Services is seeking a part-time Senior Center Bus Driver to operate a senior center bus, assist passengers, and support center programs. The position requires a CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement, and carries supervisory responsibilities within the department’s Community Services division.

The role is limited to no more than 25 hours per week year-round, with preference for applicants who have at least 3 years of supervisory experience and bilingual

Qualifications

• Minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience in a related field.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Valid Delaware CDL Class B with Passenger Endorsement.
• Possession of a Delaware Class D license or equivalent may be required; background check and drug screening.

Responsibilities

• Drives Senior Center bus and assists clients boarding and exiting.
• Assists clients with walkers/canes and at the senior center as needed.
• May perform basic vehicle maintenance and cleaning; ensures safety of passengers.
• Maintains records and prepares reports as required.
