Job summary

Town of Branford is seeking a part-time Senior Center bus driver to provide safe, reliable transportation for seniors. The role involves operating a bus or car, handling pick-up calls, and loading groceries for riders on shopping days.

Responsibilities include maintaining daily logs, staying updated on CDL regulations, and responding calmly to incidents. Occasional evenings may be required, with adherence to safety policies and passenger service standards.

Qualifications

• Valid CT CDL Class A, B or C with P passenger endorsement.
• CDL drug testing regulations must be followed.
• CPR and AED certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide transportation services; drive a bus or car, receive phone calls for follow-up pick-ups, ensure compliance with seat belt policy.
• On shopping days load grocery bags on/off bus and carry to passengers’ doorstep/curb.
• Complete daily transportation logs.
• Keep current on Federal and State transportation laws as they pertain to passengers, drivers and vehicles; adhere to safe driving practices.
• Address any accidents, emergency situations, or complaints from riders within established protocols.
• Participate in random drug testing.
