Job summary

CHEER, Inc. seeks a designated driver to safely transport Clients to Senior Centers and activities from their homes and back. The role requires a valid Delaware CDL with passenger endorsement, the ability to lift up to 35 pounds, and current defensive driving certification.

You’ll maintain vehicle condition and logs, and support center operations in Frankford, DE. Work hours are Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM with breaks; occasional extended hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Valid Delaware CDL with passenger endorsement in good standing.
• Ability to lift up to 35 pounds.
• Current Delaware Defensive Driving Certification.
• Knowledge of routine vehicle maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Transport Clients from homes to Senior Centers and other destinations following a route.
• Assist seniors on and off the bus and with packages.
• Observe traffic laws and agency policies; report accidents or unsafe conditions.
• Maintain vehicle daily clean and in good repair; report issues.
• Keep daily logs of mileage, maintenance, and ridership.
• Attend trainings and safety meetings; assist with center activities as needed.
• Recruit clients to increase ridership and request transportation donations.
• Support Center Directors with member services as needed.
