PSS in New York City is seeking a Custodian to maintain the cleanliness and safety of our senior center facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for older adults, their families and staff. This is a full-time, non-exempt role reporting to the Program Director.

Responsibilities include cleaning all areas, assisting with meals when needed, minor repairs, moving furniture, and security checks; weekend or evening hours may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of current cleaning methods and supplies.

Responsabilités

• Maintain cleanliness of the center, including bathrooms, offices and common areas.
• Assist with serving lunch to members if needed.
• Sweep, mop, and perform floor care; move and arrange furniture as needed.
• Paint, minor repairs, clean appliances and equipment.
• Remove dust from ventilation and change light bulbs; wash and empty bins.
• Restock custodial supplies and keep storage area orderly.
• Support front desk and assist with security checks for center access.
• Occasional weekends, holidays and evenings may be required.
• Other duties as assigned.
