Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior CEI Project Engineer for our Transportation Construction Engineering Inspection (CEI) program in Central Florida (Orlando). You will direct highly complex inspection programs, plan and organize staff work, and review policies and procedures to ensure conformance with standards.

Responsibilities include leading a project team, coordinating with contractors, managing meetings and submittals, reviewing RFIs and pay apps, and ensuring quality and schedule compliance.

Qualifications

• MS in Civil Engineering or related discipline (may be substituted for 1 year of experience).
• PE license required; strong communication skills essential.
• 10 years of related construction experience including estimating, bidding, purchasing, scheduling, and field engineering.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based collaboration tools.

Responsibilities

• Direct the overall management and successful delivery of multi-million dollar projects.
• Serve as primary liaison with contractors on behalf of the client/owner as part of a CEI team.
• Lead a project team responsible for contract administration and construction materials testing.
• Manage day-to-day activities: progress meetings, submittal/RFI reviews, pay applications, QA testing and inspection, schedule updates, progress reporting.
• Coordinate with designers to resolve technical/engineering issues.
• Perform other duties as needed.

Education

MS in Civil Engineering

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Professional Engineer (PE) license

Experience with MS Office, Bluebeam, estimating & scheduling software, and web-based document collaboration software
