Job summary

AECOM is seeking an experienced CEI Lead Senior Inspector to join our Transportation team in Tampa, FL. This role focuses on field surveying, construction layout, inspection, and coordination of lower-level inspectors on major transportation projects in the Tampa area.

You will work under general supervision, manage project deadlines, and mentor junior staff while ensuring conformance to quality, specifications, and code requirements in a dynamic field environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma plus 8 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• U.S. Citizenship required, due to the nature of the work.
• Valid US Driver’s License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. Pass Motor Vehicle Records review.

Responsibilities

• Performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, marking, and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests
• Coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors
• Performing work under the general supervision of the Project Administrator
• Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Responsible for setting own project deadlines
• Provides on the job training to new employees
• Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, specifications, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
• Performs daily field inspections and maintains inspection records
• Participates in punch lists, testing, and commissioning
• Tracks quality assurance progress
• Provides input to documentation for area and equipment turnovers
• Under minimal direction, relies on extensive experience and independent judgment to plan and accomplish goals
• Responsible for setting own project deadlines
• Provides on the job training to new employees
• Responsible for monitoring conformance to quality, performance, and/or code requirements by performing inspection duties
