Job summary

Huntington Ingalls Industries – Mission Technologies seeks a highly skilled CCA Board Design Engineer 3 to lead PCB design for complex, high-reliability CCAs used in defense and electronic warfare systems.

You will collaborate with systems, mechanical, thermal, and software engineers to deliver robust hardware from concept through production, guiding junior engineers and ensuring production readiness with DFx principles.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM field; 5+ years experience or Master’s with 3+ years.
• Expert-level PCB design with multi-layer HDI and fine-pitch BGA.
• Proficient in Altium, Xpedition, or Cadence toolsets; PDN and high-speed routing.
• Experience with FPGAs, processors, high-speed memory interfaces, power management.

Responsibilities

• Lead layout design of complex multi-layer CCAs and PCB assemblies.
• Guide junior engineers through routing challenges and PDN design.
• Apply DFx (DFM/DFT/DFA) for production readiness.
• Collaborate with Mechanical/Thermal teams for rugged integration.
• Produce schematics, BOMs, fabrication drawings, and assembly docs.
