Job summary

Avenue of the Arts Costa Mesa is seeking a Senior Catering Manager to lead banquet and catering revenue for a luxury hotel within Marriott’s Tribute Portfolio. You will develop new business, manage client relationships, and ensure seamless event execution from inquiry through turnover.

You will partner with the Director of Sales & Catering, coordinate with F&B and culinary teams, and drive revenue across catering, meeting space, and AV services while maintaining exceptional service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering or hospitality sales with a proven track record in generating meetings and events revenue.
• Ability to manage multiple events from inquiry to turnover in a luxury hotel environment.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and client servicing skills.

Responsibilities

• Meet and exceed catering and banquet booking goals for food & beverage and event space revenue.
• Prospect for new business and respond promptly to inquiries with same-day follow-up.
• Coordinate with Food & Beverage and Culinary teams on event requirements and logistics.
• Conduct outside sales calls, site inspections, and account development to secure new business.
• Manage group functions as liaison between client, Group Sales, and hotel operations.
• Monitor planning milestones, room blocks, and program changes to maximize revenue.
• Post-event follow-up, collect feedback, and pursue repeat and referral business.
• Represent the hotel at community and industry events to generate opportunities.
• Lead and mentor Catering team while upholding service standards and sales processes.
