Amazon Leo's Supply Chain team in Bellevue seeks a senior global category sourcing leader to drive strategy, negotiations, and supplier performance for critical technology and service suppliers supporting our orbital network.

You will partner with business, engineering, legal, program management, and supply chain leaders to design master agreements, evaluate supplier health, and deliver cost reductions while ensuring on-time delivery in a fast-paced environment.

Key job responsibilities

The Amazon Leo Supply Chain team is looking for a senior global category sourcing leader to support business and engineering stakeholders in selecting, developing and managing business relationships with critical technology and service suppliers, and others as needed to execute on Amazon Leo objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a successful track record developing and executing strategy, negotiating master agreements and statements of work, and managing supplier performance. Experience working in new and ambiguous environments while solving complex problems with a broad range of cross functional stakeholders will be an advantage.

Specifically, in this role you will:

• Use industry and relevant data analysis, create and execute strategic sourcing plans for a technology, business unit, department, or project to help internal customers meet their goals
• Work with a range of stakeholders including business leaders, engineering leaders, legal, program management, and supply chain to negotiate a variety of agreements and contracts including term sheets, MOUs, NDAs, SOWs, development agreements, component purchase agreements and others
• Analyze industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify opportunities to reduce cost, minimize risk, protect continuity of supply, and industry developments that benefit Amazon’s customers
• Influence suppliers' processes, technology decisions, and policies in ways that are mutually beneficial and sustainable for both organizations
• Prioritize projects and activities to deliver maximum cost reductions and reliable on-time delivery
• Manage cross-functional projects against plans and objectives to meet commitments and goals
• Drive financial modeling of large and complex deals
• Evaluate and monitor financial health of critical suppliers
• Effectively lead cross-functional meetings with clear document writing, agenda creation, note capture and follow-up activity coordination
• Design, implement and integrate new suppliers into existing systems and supply chain

Basic Qualifications

• 2+ years of program, project or product management, or leading product implementation experience
• 6+ years of related industry experience
• 8+ years of data analysis using tools such as Excel, Pivot Tables, SQL, Tableau, or equivalent experience
• 8+ years of high volume manufacturing operations or sourcing environments experience
• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
• Experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies
• Experience in global supply chain management, managing cross-functional teams in a fast-paced consumer electronics product company

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Experience in data centers, infrastructure service providers, or related technology companies
• Experience in negotiations with global suppliers with a proven track record in cost reduction
• Experience in procurement practices working with engineering, supply chain and Tier 1 OEM partners
• Experience practicing best-in-class procurement processes (category management, benchmarking, should-cost models, RFX, reverse auction, contracting, or equivalent)

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
