Job summary

CareSource seeks a Senior Category Manager to deliver enterprise-wide vendor management services, drive best-in-class contracts, optimize spend leverage, and manage business risk through fair terms. Lead Category Management functions and mentor category team members.

The role emphasizes developing roadmaps, partnering with business owners, and ensuring strategic sourcing aligns with organizational needs across healthcare procurement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, materials management, logistics or related discipline or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Master’s degree in business administration preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in strategic sourcing, vendor relations, contract development, procurement process/policy and negotiation are required.
• Experienced in process improvement, training, effective communication, and collaboration.
• Broad spectrum of category expertise in procurement, healthcare setting, with regulatory/compliance understanding.

Responsibilities

• Deliver Category strategic sessions and help develop roadmaps and prioritization of sourcing needs.
• Mentor and coach category team members and ensure roadmap alignment.
• Conduct market research to identify opportunities and ROI of RFx events.
• Identify opportunities for consolidation or bundling to reduce risk and drive cost efficiency.
• Collaborate with Legal to ensure contracts follow policy; analyze contracts and recommend changes.
• Support supplier diversity and local economic development programs.
• Provide strategic recommendations to select the best suppliers for corporate services.
• Develop and implement corporate sourcing policies and procedures.
