Job summary

Jobtailor in the United States (Colorado) is seeking a Category Manager to lead the Jan/San category. The role focuses on category strategy, vendor partnerships, pricing and promotions, and inventory optimization, with oversight of Category Assistants.

Strong leadership, analytics, and a strategic mindset are essential. You will collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Ecommerce, Supply Chain, and Sales to ensure seamless execution and sustained growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Business, Marketing, or Merchandising.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in merchandising, category management, or retail strategy.
• Strategic and commercial acumen.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Advanced analytical and financial skills.
• Vendor negotiation expertise.
• Cross-functional leadership.
• Ability to work onsite 4 days per week, Monday-Thursday, from one of the listed locations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute category strategy covering assortment, pricing, promotions, and vendor strategy.
• Drive sales, margin, and market share for the Jan/San category.
• Own vendor relationships, including negotiations, funding, performance management, and strategic partnerships.
• Lead and develop Category Assistants through direction, coaching, and performance management.
• Drive pricing and promotional strategy, competitive positioning, and margin optimization.
• Lead forecasting, demand planning, and inventory productivity strategy.
• Drive cross-functional execution across Marketing, Ecommerce, Supply Chain, and Sales.
• Own assortment planning and SKU lifecycle management, including optimization and rationalization.
• Ensure alignment between category strategy and execution.
