Job summary

Okta’s Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team seeks a Category Manager (Technology Sourcing) to lead global tech spend, including Software, Network, SaaS, IaaS, and Telephony. You will partner with senior stakeholders, drive RFx events, and negotiate MSAs, while mentoring junior managers.

You will report to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing – Technology, and thrive in a fast-paced, hybrid role based in Bellevue, WA or the San Francisco Bay Area.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of technology sourcing in a global company.
• Ability to independently lead complex contract negotiations with tech focus.
• Experience mentoring junior category managers or sourcing staff.
• Data modeling and spend analysis to inform leadership decisions.
• Excellent communication with senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
• Experience with ERP and sourcing tools (Workday Sourcing/Scout, Coupa, Ironclad).
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead technology category strategies (Software, Network, SaaS, IaaS, Telephony, AI).
• Oversee end-to-end RFx events, supplier evaluations, and negotiations for high-value tech sourcing.
• Negotiate project-level terms and support MSAs with Legal input.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and mitigate risks across critical tech categories.
• Build strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and cross-functional partners.
• Own supplier relationship management for top technology suppliers and escalation handling.
• Ensure governance, compliance, and policy adherence across the function.
• Build data models and spend analyses; brief leadership with executive-ready insights.
