Job summary

StackCommerce is seeking a Category Management professional to source and onboard exciting deals across digital and physical product spaces. You will manage the merchant pipeline in Salesforce, negotiate terms, and cultivate relationships to secure exclusive deals for Stack’s network.

The role emphasizes performance metrics, cross-functional collaboration, and staying ahead of industry trends to drive revenue and profits.

  • 7+ years of B2B inside sales or category management experience.
  • Experience canvassing and conducting cold outreach to director-level contacts.
  • Experience with ecommerce buying, daily deals, and refurbished electronics products.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing & Category Management: identify and onboard new brands and deals to expand Stack’s portfolio.
  • Own and manage the merchant pipeline in Salesforce, progressing leads from outreach to close.

The Role:

The Category Management team is responsible for sourcing and onboarding fresh, exciting deals in both the digital (apps, software, memberships, EDU and online courses) and physical (refurb, tech/electronics, liquidation) space.

Must be U.S. based.
What You'll Do:
  • Sourcing & Category Management:
    • Research, identify, and onboard new brands / products / deals that you believe will be quality products that will excel throughout our network. Leverage your existing network and get scrappy to research, identify, and onboard new suppliers and manufacturers to expand Stack’s product portfolio.
    • Own and manage the prospective merchant pipeline in Salesforce, progressing leads through the sales funnel from initial outreach to close.
    • Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, volume discounts, and favorable terms.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with our merchants, developing win-win business plans for both parties, and securing exclusive deals for Stack
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, consumer preferences, competitor activities, and emerging market opportunities.
  • Performance Metrics:
    • Be held to revenue, net profit, and sales activity key performance indicators (KPIs)
    • Track and analyze (KPIs) such as sales, profit, conversion rates, and customer satisfaction to measure category performance. Develop action plans to address challenges and capitalize on opportunities.
    • Continuously monitor performance metrics and adjust product offerings as needed
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    • Partner with internal teams (Publisher Account Management, Merchandising, Production, Operations, and Content) to launch and promote the strongest products throughout our network
    • Leverage SalesForce, Looker, Google Analytics, and Google Suite (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Docs), and other apps in your sales stack to get the deals done
What You'll Bring:
  • 7+ years of dedicated business-to-business inside sales or category management experience
  • Experience canvassing and conducting cold-outreach to new business prospects, including negotiations with director and above level contacts
  • Experience with ecommerce buying, daily deals, and digital or refurbished electronic products
  • Salesforce experience
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Proven track record in business consulting and selling / closing deals
  • Action-oriented, motivated and the previous results of demonstrated success
  • Ability to close 6-figure daily deal promotions
  • A proven hungry closer who loves a dynamic environment
Compensation:

Our overall compensation and rewards package includes base pay, bonus or commission, and a variety of benefits. Base pay is determined within a range that allows you the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The anticipated annualized salary range for this role is $115,300 - $156,000 (this range may be modified in the future based on changing market conditions). Your initial base pay will be determined based on several factors, including demonstrated skills, relevant education or training, experience, qualifications, travel requirements, and job location.
