Job description

Our client is searching for a Senior Category Development Analyst who will play a vital role in supporting the category management team in data analysis, market research, and the development of strategies to drive category growth. This position involves leveraging data insights to enhance decision-making and contribute to the achievement of category objectives within the CPG industry.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Analyze market trends, consumer insights, sales data, and competitive landscapes to identify category growth opportunities in beauty, cosmetics, general merchandise, and toys categories.
• Develop and deliver actionable insights, forecasts, and recommendations that drive category strategy, assortment planning, and pricing decisions.
• Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Brand teams to develop compelling category stories that support customer presentations, line reviews, and business proposals.
• Support retail partner engagement by providing tailored insights, data storytelling, and trend analyses to build strong collaborative relationships.
• Monitor and report on category performance metrics, including sales, margin, inventory, and promotional effectiveness, with a focus on continuous improvement.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to align category strategies with overall business objectives and ensure flawless execution across the organization.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of previous experience in data analysis, market research, or related roles. CPG industry experience highly preferred.
• Proficiency in data analytics tools (e.g., PowerBI, Excel, Tableau) and market research software.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Collaborative mindset with the ability to work in cross-functional teams.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to evolving industry trends and technologies.

SALARY: Up to $95,000
