Qualifications

• 7–10 years of casualty claims experience, preferably with primary or excess carriers
• Active adjuster license in applicable states
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to manage complex claims and negotiate resolutions
• Willingness to travel up to 10%
• Hybrid in-office work with 3 days onsite

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess coverage issues and draft position letters
• Develop and implement strategy for coverage matters and resolution
• Mitigate indemnity and expense exposure with timely action
• Maintain contact with claims staff, underwriters, defense counsel and brokers
• Investigate claims and review relevant materials
• Review statutes, rules and case law for jurisdictions
• Review litigation materials and expert reports
• Analyze risk transfer and indemnity issues
• Retain or direct counsel as needed per strategy
• Prepare reports and present recommendations to senior management
• Travel to mediations and trials as required
• Negotiate resolutions and manage claims diaries and reserves
