Job summary

COUNTY OF LEHIGH seeks an experienced County Caseworker to provide professional social services and case management for children, youth and families. The role focuses on assessing needs, developing service plans, and linking families to housing, child care, budgeting and parenting supports.

You will schedule interviews, prepare reports and, when needed, testimony in court under supervision, while collaborating with community resources to meet family goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience.
• One year of experience as County Caseworker 1 or one year in public/private social work.
• Must be civil service certified and able to obtain clearances.

Responsibilities

• Assess presenting problems, strengths and needs of families.
• Develop written service plans for family members with input from families.
• Provide social services such as home budgeting, housing, child care and parenting skills.
• Schedule and conduct interviews and follow-up visits for counseling and services.
• Prepare social studies, case summaries, reports and testimony in court under supervision.
• Refer to public/private agencies and resources to meet child and family needs.
• Document activities and services, including summaries and reports, using agency methods.
