Responsibilities

  • Carpenters are responsible for structural repairs and painting interior and exterior surfaces of residential or commercial buildings using different materials.
  • This includes framing, stripping old paint, preparation work for the surfaces, applying filler, using power and hand tools to sand surfaces for further finishing and painting.
  • Take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed.
  • Build window frames, doors, staircases, and frame buildings by using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
  • Carve and assemble furniture, cabinets, shelves, and other items and install them where designated.
  • Inspect places and conduct repairs or maintenance.
  • Building scaffolding and other construction structures.
