Job summary

Discovery Senior Living in North Port, FL is seeking a dedicated Caregiver to provide hands-on care and emotional support to residents. This role offers a 6AM-2PM day shift, includes weekends, and requires the ability to maintain a safe, home-like environment while promoting resident independence.

Ideal candidates are 18+, with HS diploma or GED, and prior experience with seniors. CNA preferred. Competitive wages and comprehensive benefits are included for full-time staff.

Qualifications

• CNA certification preferred.
• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Prior experience with seniors preferred.
• Strong communication skills with residents, team members, and leadership.
• Compassionate, resident-focused approach with superior customer service skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Sound judgment, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for designated group of residents during shift; ensures awareness of whereabouts and conducts frequent checks.
• Provide daily personal care support, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, ambulation, transferring, and eating assistance.
• Respond to security system and resident call bells promptly.
• Help residents maintain independence while promoting dignity, safety, and overall well-being.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of resident rooms and work areas.
• Offer companionship, encouragement, and emotional support to residents.
• Engage residents in meaningful life skills activities and enrichment programs.
• Notify supervisor and/or health care coordinator if a resident has increased care needs.
• Other duties as assigned.
