The Salvation Army, Serendipity program, seeks Direct Care Staff to support program participants in Anchorage. The role emphasizes group and individual activities, safety, and compassionate care aligned with care plans.

Responsibilities include documenting activities, assisting with daily living activities, and maintaining respectful interactions with participants and families. Training and adherence to program policies are required.

Formación

• 1. High School diploma, Associates Degree preferred.
• 2. One-year experience working with senior and/or other special needs population.
• 3. Knowledge of the effects of ADRD on the individual and their care providers; understanding of group dynamics and well-being.
• 4. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; maintain harmonious relationships.
• 5. Ability to plan, coordinate, and prioritize work.
• 6. Acceptable criminal history backgrounds.

Responsabilidades

• 1. Implements therapeutic group, individual, and community activities to promote wellbeing.
• 2. Works within the participant's care plan; engages participants and responds to emergencies.
• 3. Completes daily program documentation such as attendance, logs.
• 4. Creates an atmosphere of safety, trust, and dignity; demonstrates basic assessment skills.
• 5. Attends in-services and team meetings; works as a team member.
• 6. Understands aging and dementia impact; uses wellbeing indicators for care approach.
• 7. Promotes independence and assists with daily living activities and nutrition.
