Job summary

Hiawatha Care Center in Iowa is seeking a professional Hair Stylist to provide haircuts, styling, and grooming for residents. This part-time role offers flexible scheduling, a fixed minimum commitment of one full day per week, and the opportunity to build a steady client base within the community.

You will maintain a clean salon, follow sanitation standards, and record services while delivering compassionate care and personalized attention to each resident.

Qualifications

• Current and valid Iowa Cosmetology License required.
• Experience performing iron sets and roller sets.
• Experience working with seniors or in a long-term care setting preferred, but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to care.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair care services as a Hair Stylist, including haircuts and styling for men and women.
• Perform shampooing, styling, blow drying, and basic grooming services.
• Perform iron sets and roller sets based on resident preferences.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary salon environment.
• Clean and disinfect cosmetology tools and equipment in accordance with sanitation standards.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Deliver services with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect while accommodating each resident's individual needs.
• Maintain accurate records of services provided and collect payment in accordance with facility procedures, if applicable.
