Job summary

Hiawatha Care Center is actively hiring a Hair Stylist to provide professional hair care services that help residents look and feel their best in a long-term care setting. You will deliver compassionate, resident-centered cosmetology services, building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staff while working with older adults.

A valid Iowa Cosmetology License is required, with experience in iron and roller sets preferred.

Qualifications

• Iowa Cosmetology License required.
• Experience performing iron sets and roller sets.
• Experience with seniors or in long-term care preferred, but not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and resident-focused approach to care.
• Reliable transportation and dependable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair care services including cuts and styling for men and women.
• Perform shampooing, styling, blow drying, and basic grooming.
• Perform iron sets and roller sets per resident preferences.
• Maintain a clean, safe, sanitary salon environment.
• Disinfect tools and equipment according to sanitation standards.
• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
• Deliver services with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect while accommodating needs.
• Maintain records of services and handle payments per facility procedures, if applicable.

As a Hair Stylist, you will deliver compassionate, resident-centered cosmetology services in a long-term care setting while building meaningful relationships with residents, families, and staff. What We Offer

Compensation : $15 - $60 per hour

Schedule and Employment Type

• Part-Time | Flexible Schedule

• Minimum commitment of one full day per week, with the opportunity for additional days as needed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide professional hair care services as a Hair Stylist, including haircuts and styling for men and women

• Perform shampooing, styling, blow drying, and basic grooming services

• Perform iron sets and roller sets based on resident preferences

• Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary salon environment

• Clean and disinfect cosmetology tools and equipment in accordance with sanitation standards

• Build positive relationships with residents, families, and staff

• Deliver services with patience, kindness, dignity, and respect while accommodating each resident's individual needs

• Maintain accurate records of services provided and collect payment in accordance with facility procedures, if applicable

Qualifications
