Job summary

Active Day in Owensboro, KY is seeking Program Assistants, PCA and Activities Assistants to provide loving care and assist with activities, personal and medical care, meals and social activities. We train you; no experience required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• At least one year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Prior experience working with seniors and/or adults with special needs preferred but not required.
• Engaging interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Able to bend, lift up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
• Background check clearance and regulatory requirements as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
• Assist in planning and facilitation of creative therapeutic recreational programs and encourage participation.
• Serve meals and snacks and clear tables; assist with feeding as needed.
• Observe members for changes in condition; escalate concerns as appropriate.
• Maintain program areas, supplies, and equipment; keep clean, disinfected and stocked.
• Ensure safety by monitoring activities and maintaining a sanitary, orderly environment.
• Communicate professionally with members, families, co-workers and referrals.
• Participate in staff meetings and cross-functional collaboration to enhance member experience.
• Comply with policies, safety and regulatory laws; perform other duties as assigned.
