Job summary

Active Day is seeking Program Assistants in Baltimore to provide compassionate care and assist members with activities, meals, and daily living tasks. You will help plan engaging recreational programs and support a warm, welcoming center. We train you and offer opportunities across full-time, part-time, and per-diem roles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred or a minimum of two years relevant experience.
• At least one year full-time equivalent experience in a health care setting preferred.
• Prior experience with seniors or adults with special needs preferred but not required.
• Engaging interpersonal and communication skills.
• Able to multi-task and manage time effectively.
• Able to work a flexible schedule.
• Able to bend, lift 50 pounds and assist with physical transfers.
• Background check clearance as required by state regulations.

Responsibilities

• Assist members with activities of daily living and personal care as needed.
• Help plan and facilitate therapeutic recreational programs and encourage participation.
• Serve meals and snacks and assist with feeding as needed.
• Monitor members for changes in condition and escalate concerns appropriately.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of program areas, supplies, and equipment.
• Ensure a sanitary, clutter-free environment and safe activities for members.
• Communicate professionally with members, families, and staff.
• Participate in staff meetings and cross-functional collaboration.
• Comply with company policies, safety and regulatory requirements.
• Take on other duties as assigned.
