Job summary

The Landings of Oak Island is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support residents with daily living activities and promote independence in a safe, nurturing environment. As a PCA you will assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, meals, mobility, monitor health, provide companionship, and help residents participate in activities, all while following safety and infection-control protocols.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Completion of a state-approved PCA, CNA, or caregiver training program preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in personal care, senior living, or healthcare preferred.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Compassionate, patient, and attentive to residents' needs.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with ADLs (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility).
• Support meals, hydration, and feeding assistance; promote independence.
• Observe and report changes in health and behavior to nursing staff; monitor for adverse reactions.
• Foster companionship and engagement; encourage participation in activities.
• Maintain clean, safe living areas; follow infection control protocols and safety procedures.
